Summit Management Systems was founded and incorporated in Tennessee, with offices in Lebanon and Cookeville, in early April of 1994. Original management and development team earned their experience from heavy manufacturing and distribution based Information Technology with total combined experience of more than fifty years. Original specialization was in the area of automated data collection such as barcode scanning, both portable and fixed, label printing, and general manufacturing and distribution IT systems such as shipping and receiving, inventory, work in process reporting, etc. Current specialization has expanded to include much tighter integration into manufacturing and distribution channels. Largest current industry is automotive with supported installations throughout the Southeast, Michigan, and Mexico.
